Finance and accounting are exciting subjects as we enter the 21stcentury. To understand their developments and to participate in them effectively requires knowledge of the principles of finance. This course explains these principles and their application in making decisions.

Objectives

  • Understand and analyze the typical standard financial reports with plenty of explanation in the company which could give them valuable information, such as:
    1. Balance sheet
    2. Profit and loss statement
    3. Cash flows statement
    4. The annual budget
  • Understand the tools of finance where they can be useful to their day to day activities in the company, without wasting time explaining the deep details that will likely never benefit them (i.e. use of financial ratios as key indicator, the annual budget).
  • Use the language of finance, but think more like a line manager than an accountant.
